Abruzzo
Abruzzo is a mountainous region in central Italy, with a significant Adriatic coastline. It is Italy's fifth most significant wine-producing region by volume. Like much of Italy, the region enjoys a warm climate and this is combined with an extensive variety of favourable, hillside sites that stretch all the way to coast. Red wines are mostly made from the high quality Montepulciano variety, while white wines consist of Trebbiano and a small amount of other local, indigenous varieties.
