Tasting Notes

This Ramón Bilbao Limite Sur 2020 is 100% Garnacha from a vineyard at the most Easterly tip of La Rioja at an altitude of 500-600m. The altitude helps mitigate the hot summer temperatures with a rich landscape of holm oaks with fragrant rosemary and wild thyme bushes surrounding the vineyards.In the winery there is a pre-fermentation maceration to preserve floral aromas, followed by fermentation in concrete tanks with a portion of the stems. The wine is then aged in a mixture of 600 litre oak barrels, concrete tanks and amorpha. After blending the wine is matured for 8 months in 225 litre French oak barrels. Intense and complex, with notes of fresh red-berried fruit, blossom, pink pepper and herbal nuances. Fresh with good acidity and pleasant tannin. A balanced, harmonious wine with a long finish.
