Charles Joguet Les Charmes Chinon Rouge 2017. From vines of 35 years of age and a number of clay-limestone vineyard plots on the banks of the Vienne river, this wine is fermented in wooden foudres, and aged 6 months in oak barriques. An exemplary Chinon Cabernet Franc, full of finesse and charm, silky textured, powerful, full-bodied with red fruit accents, and notes of salinity, herb and spice. Just about hitting its stride now, but good for 5 more years.
