The Domaine du Roncée cultivates 55 hectares of vines spread over the right bank of the Vienne river, in the heart of the Chinon appellation. The vines are planted around the ancient Castle of Roncée, which was unfortunately mostly destroyed during the French Revolution. In the 15th century, each plot of vines was enclosed by walls to form "clos". The majority of the plantings are cabernet franc, also called "Breton", with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Melon from The Muscadet appellation
