Riesling
Riesling is a high quality white grape variety whose traditional home is the wine-making regions of Germany such as the Pfalz or the Mosel. It has a propensity for cooler climates, producing very fine wines of an aromatic nature with high acidity and often the capability to age well. It is a versatile grape and shows well in a wide range of styles from fully dry to lusciously sweet. In addition to its German homeland, fantastic examples can also be found in the Alsace, and further afield in the new world regions of South Australia and New Zealand. It performs especially well in Australia's Clare Valley, where a new world 'classic' style has emerged.
