Malbec
Malbec is a red grape variety once popular in Bordeaux, but now the grape is found mainly in Cahors, Southern France and is currently enjoying a renaissance in Argentina, where it has found a new home and is very much in the ascendency. In Argentina, and specifically Mendoza, Malbec is by far the most important wine grape, producing full-bodied, ripe and lush red wines full of juicy fruit and velvety tannins capable of long-term ageing, and brilliant to match with a wide range of foods, particularly the beef for which the region is also famous.
