Barbera
Barbera is a red grape variety native to Italy and commonly found in the region of Piemonte, in the north-west of Italy at the foot of the Alps. It ripens relatively late and even when fully ripe, retains a high level of natural acidity, making it an ideal variety for cultivation in hotter climates, such as Italy. Wines show a delicious combination of sour red and black fruit, soft supple tannins and the aforementioned high levels of mouthwatering acidity.
