Proemio

Founded in 2001, Marcelo Bocardo decided to produced his own wines in a fully renovated 1930s Winery, with a special focus on sustainability. Proemio means Prologue in Old Medieval Spanish, Marcelo chose this name as he was the first generation of the family to produce his own wines, beginning a new legacy. Since then he has been discovering his winemaking style based on the deconstruction of French Blend. Marcelo's focus on sustainability has lead to a manual harvest, with bunches and berries being handpicked by the team. The harvest is tank filled by gravity to prevent skin breakage, with fermentation and maceration taking place in small concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, then stored for 12 months in the winery.
