Iria Otero Mazoy
Winemaker Iria Otero Mazoy has a depth of knowledge from working with several wineries in Spain for over 12 years. Extremely experienced and with a PhD in viticulture and oenology, in 2015, she began creating her own wines in Rias Baixas and Ribeiro,
She aims to create wines with soul and without haste that are a reflection of the surroundings and the history of the Ribeiro region. Working with only indigenous, local grape varieties grown on premium vineyard sites which benefit from the influence of the Atlantic ocean, her wines are made with the minimum of intervention, showing great character, minerality and elegance.
In 2018, she completed a new cellar that she designed and rebuilt herself. Her winemaking approach is non-interventionist as she focuses on growing and selecting fruit with tremendous intention and then blends and ages her Albariño as one of a growing number of producers that recognize the long-term potential of the variety.
